Director's Profile (Khairil Bahar)

Khairil Bahar experimented with many low budget short films before making his first feature film - ‘Ciplak’ - for a super low budget of RM10,000. Despite its modest budget, the film was released by Golden Screen Cinemas to great reviews and won the ‘Best Alternative Film Award’ at the Anugerah Skrin 2006. He has since written and directed many episodes of TV staples such as ‘Ampang Medikal’, ‘Ghost’ and ‘Dark City’ as well as made numerous music videos for independent bands such as Y2K, One Buck Short, Dragon Red, Azizi and Soft Touch. Khairil is currently putting finishing touches to his second feature film ‘London Calling’. It stars Justin Chan, Chermaine Poo, Melissa Maureen Rizal as well as himself. When not writing or directing films or TV dramas, he can be found either producing films, acting in films, working as a stunt man, writing for magazines or playing the guitar for his excellent rock band ‘Rollin Sixers’.

Synopsis

Healthy Paranoia. An over-zealous public relations consultant advises the current minister of health how to discourage unhealthy lifestyles in Malaysia.
